I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but memory tells me that the 1.6
Pinto is an interference engine, though the 2.0 isn't.

A cam belt break on a 1.6 will almost certainly have bent valves, but
you might be lucky. Odds are though that it's just one cylinder - you
may find that sliding a belt on will at least get you moving, though
you might not want to rev it!
