Thanks for the offer of help on wiring, much appreciated.  I did make
a start on stripping out the unused circuits from the mondeo engine
loom a while ago, and think I got most of them (erring on the side of
caution).

I'm not yet decided whether to retain the mondeo underbonnet fuse/
relay box.  It's a big unit to find a home for, and a lot of it won't
be used in future.

I'm going to wait util the engine is in the car before going any
further with the electrics, it should be a lot easier to figure things
out when everything is plugged into place.
