Hiya Thanks for the advise on the tyres - I thought that as it was FWD, I could get away with just doing the fronts, but it makes sense to do all 4.
The main reason is to get up my drive (it's a steep slope), and off the estate - the main roads tend to be reasonably well gritted - most of the time!! I have got some 'snowsocks' - I purchased them earlier this year - best investment ever - the day they arrived was the last day of snow. I was at work, and my car was at home ;-) I will post on here if they work (or not), but they are mainly for emergency use - although the promo video is impressive - the car had the handbrake on, and the car was still driving along up a slope with the rear wheels not moving. Reading through - Matthew - what is the 'manual diff lock trick' please, and how do you do it?
