You should be able to do most work on the door without removing the inner
panel, once you remove that (it's probably pop riveted on then you will need to
mess around re-aligning the glass runners etc as well.

If yours is Q2-203 then it's only 4 cars later than mine so will almost
certainly have the higher rear suspension mounts.
So as a next step lower i'd try standard (non-XR2) Fiesta springs as your car
should have had the Quantum long springs from the factory.
XR2 will be even lower, like mine, too low.

Thank you all. I will take the door card off again, I assume I might have to
take the f/glass panel off to fully get into the door, I did have a quick look
before I posted the other day but will look again.
Maybe the rear wheels is an illusion then, I'd say most of the 2+2 images
I've seen look as though they are too high on the rear with +ve camber. I don't
have any pictures that make it really obvious but I think this one shows what I
mean http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz291/marktmaguire/Quantum/a541c6a1.jpg
The car was built by the factory (I think its no. 2203) so the alloys etc
were all factory supplied, are there records on what springs would have been
used? Funnily enough it amazes me how soft the rear feels when you push on the
boot, I initially thought something was knackered but the ride feels very good
so I guess its just because it doesn't weigh as much as the average steel
bodied car.
The wheels could do with a spacer, I would like to replace them with
something a little more modern with better tyre availablity, having just had to
replace all 4 tyres I wasn't impressed with the prices but don't have the spare
funds to go buying alloys that aren't necesarry.
Maybe I'll see if I can get some Xr2 springs and see how they sit and get the
local tyre place to check the rear camber to see if its out/bent etc or just an
illusion.

  Mark
