The other problem that can happen with the electric windows is if they were modified the original way by bending the chanel at the bottom 90 degrees the cable eventually wears through the chanel and jams.

I recently aquired a 97 factory built 2+2 and have a few minor issues
I need to sort and would appreciate any advice before I start as I'm
guessing these are common problems...
1.Headlights (low beam only) are intermittent when driving...as side
and main appear OK I'm guessing there's a break in the supply wire
somewhere (as opposed to an earth problem that would affect main as
well). Is there a known, common failure point on the headlight loom.
2.Electric windows are stuck...when operated they try so I'm guessing
motors and wiring are OK but that mechanism somewhere needs
freeing...is there a known area or part where they tend to stick.
3.Locking mechanism....same as above....very stiff to the point where
the central locking solenoid (or motor?) won't operate it....is there
a particular area to look at.
4.Is there a known spec for the boot gas struts....I can measure for
size but don't know (and can't easily measure) load force.
Other than that it seems like a great little car....drives nice and
pulls well
Thanks
