Our local Motor Factor is very friendly and sells lenghts of hose by the metre - I just take a sample of the old one in and they match....
The following web site is useful for ideas - http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/ On the Carb.... Did you have a hot water heated Autochoke or was it Electrical? The hot water Autochoke had a water inlet tube and an outlet tube. The old manual conversion kits usually included a short connecting tube (and clips) to allow the autochoke to be bypassed I had an electricaly heated Autochoke which I converted - the Y piece is still required as I believe it controls the temperature of the "inlet manifold" ----- Original Message ----- From: Keith Joseph To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, January 03, 2013 6:48 PM Subject: [Quantum Owners] 1.6 CVH Heater coolant pipes Hi and Happy New Year to one and all. I'm after a bit of advice regarding coolant pipework on my 2+2. I have a problem whereby I cannot seam to get any real heat into the cabin through the heater. (I've had this problem for several years but it's finally got to the top of the list of jobs!) I have flushed the system out thoroughly and have just replaced the thermostat which opens as it should. I think I have traced the problem to the short hose which is connected to the "Y" Piece and goes over the large metal bar and onto the top of the heater matrix connection on the bulkhead. I think the rubber hose has seen better days and is simply not allowing enough hot water to pass through it into the heater matrix. I have started looking for a replacement hose but am struggling to find one - Does anybody know where I can get one from / what the correct name for this small pipe is? Also, as I have a manual choke on my carb, can anyone advise if I still need to retain the hot water supply to the bottom of the carb (Weber VV), or can I simply remove this pipe and therefore get rid of the "Y" piece also? Many thanks for your help. Cheers, Keith -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
