Subject: [Quantum Owners] Re: 1.6 CVH Heater coolant pipes

hi
i have / have had the same issue as you, little to no heat from the
heater, my entire cooling system is brand new since i rebuilt the car
2 years ago so i know its not sludge
so i started to question how the Y piece is fitted (you do still need
it to go to the inlet manifold as mentioned) so i posted this topic a
few weeks ago

http://groups.google.com/group/quantumowners/browse_thread/thread/c1325abab1447ef0

take a look, id check that yours is plumed in the same as Jim mentions
as it is his advice i ultimately opted for, after asking about i found
that not all Quantum’s or fiestas are plumed in the same, at one point
i was struggling to find 2 the same but eventually i did for extra
clarification, ive yet to test my new plumed in Y piece but time will
tell, if the problem persists id check the water level as they can be
sensitive to low levels

hope any of that helps

Thanks for that, it looks like a really useful website. I can see me
spending lots of time (and money!) on that site.

As regards the autochoke, I really don't know / can't remember as it was
taken off at least 10 years ago now. I can only assume that it was
electrical now that you have pointed out that the hose from the Y piece is
required for the inlet manifold. I seem to remember that there is a single
wire which has been redundant for many years - I'll bet that was the wire
leading to the original choke.

Cheers,

Keith
