When I did some searching a couple of years ago (before putting the
Quantumsleep behind the Saloon), I found that if a car was subject to IVA,
that the towbar didn't have to be bound by the same restrictions as a
production car, and merely had to be sufficient for the job. Unfortunately I
didn't make a note of which website I gleaned the info from!
Maybe another search required???

Further checks involving tow bars has revealed that Brussels has got it's
fingers in this pie as well ( no suprise there then ) so it now is required
that each tow bar is tested and plated with its stregnth etc.
I am sure you may all be aware that testing each bar could render it not
economically viable to make. However, I am still looking into it and will
advise when I have more info.
