Just to add my tuppence here, once you ask an authority type person a
question you open a can of worms.
Police are not experts on law and cannot be asked to go for hard targets.
I am with Jim in as much as call it a bracket and suggest you could tow with
it. Also forums are unfortunately never private.
I have a Fiesta tow bar and am also an engineer and I would just make it fit
when I feel like it, but do not try to tow huge caravans. The back end of a
scrap Quantum would make a nice trailer.
