Yes, the resistance should be less than 1 ohm, the current is 15 or 20 amps.
Did you measure with the meter probes on the crimps or actually on the
rear screen elements each side ?

has voltage at the connectors and resistance of 1.4 K Ohms across

In general the pattern of de-mister conductors is designed for a
hatch tailgate with a section for the rear wiper and large areas
you want in the saloon are uncovered. I was thinking of an
alternative anyway. How about an aftermarket adhesive old style
heater for the screen? I have fitted one in the dim and distant
past and it did work. Not very subtle though. Possibly electric
fan heaters fitted blowing up the screen as a solution? Any
experiences/ideas anyone?
