My conversion of a 2+2 with Mk4 dash is well underway now with the help of the kids at my school! Everything has been stripped back, modified subframe for electric motor/batteries has been galvanised, all suspension components sandblasted and repainted and about to start putting it all back together after bodyshell painted. I will be fitting electric GM power steering, using petrol tank space for suspended space saver spare wheel, ceramic heater in place of heater exchanger from engine, and the batteries will be divided between the space behind the back seat as well as above gearbox/motor. *I write here to ask members for ideas/experience for how to soup it up to be the ultimate electric 2+2.* Ideas and help on the following as well as things I haven't thought of would be appreciated:
- I'd like heated front seats (as no warm engine!). Any ideas on heated production/sporty seats that fit nicely in the 2+2 or will I have to retrofit heater elements in XR2 seats? Or even heated electric adjustment seats? - Has anyone found easy way to do electric boot release or is it just a case of engineering/fitting a solenoid? - Can brake servo be fitted directly to back of brake pedal box as there is space now with no engine (the angles on the bar are not quite identical hence the question). - Has anyone got advice or quality bits for sale that can help me build the ultimate fully electric 2+2? -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
