Electric boot releases can be found on the Quantum coupe but some owners found
them troublesome and got rid of them

There are a number of overlays for domestic and car seats which include massage
rollers and some of these include heating - some operate both in house and in
car.

My own feeling about electric cars (motorbikes and electric bicycles) is that
the first target should be operating range, speed (ability to keep up with
standard vehicles in the conditions where the electric car is to be used),
comfort features are 'Luxuries' which can only be afforded if the power
available is such that use of them does not affect speed and range.

Many diesel engined cars are all but impossible to steer without some form of
power steering because of the weight and location of the engine. It might be
that the motor and battery layout in an electric Quantum would present the same
problem but equally it might be possible to eliminate the need for power
steering, e.g. using a trailer mounted generator or housing the batteries in a
trailer rather than on board.

I wish you all the best for your project.

Michael

Subject: [Quantum Owners] The ultimate fully electric 2+2

My conversion of a 2+2 with Mk4 dash is well underway now with the help of the
kids at my school! Everything has been stripped back, modified subframe for
electric motor/batteries has been galvanised, all suspension components
sandblasted and repainted and about to start putting it all back together after
bodyshell painted. I will be fitting electric GM power steering, using petrol
tank space for suspended space saver spare wheel, ceramic heater in place of
heater exchanger from engine, and the batteries will be divided between the
space behind the back seat as well as above gearbox/motor.
I write here to ask members for ideas/experience for how to soup it up to be
the ultimate electric 2+2. Ideas and help on the following as well as things I
haven't thought of would be appreciated:

I'd like heated front seats (as no warm engine!). Any ideas on heated
production/sporty seats that fit nicely in the 2+2 or will I have to retrofit
heater elements in XR2 seats? Or even heated electric adjustment seats?

Has anyone found easy way to do electric boot release or is it just a case of
engineering/fitting a solenoid?
Can brake servo be fitted directly to back of brake pedal box as there is space
now with no engine (the angles on the bar are not quite identical hence the
question).
Has anyone got advice or quality bits for sale that can help me build the
ultimate fully electric 2+2?
