You just need to undo the clamp from under the dash. Then, in the engine bay undo the M10 bolt in the centre of the big connector and the ecu will drop down into the car.
The 2.0 won’t run very well with a 1.6ecu as the 2.0 has a different MAF and injector size. But that’s the next step , first find out what the ecu is, you are looking for a 4 letter code that usually spells a word. I have found the unit, up behind the glove box where it's not too easy to get at and I cannot see any labels. I need some practical advice as to how to gain access - I can't actually see what is going on up there. I think I can probably loosen the clamp bolt. But what happens if I do? Would the unit drop out with its wiring attached? Where would the diagnostic port be? Any other info would be gratefully received.
