I'll look into this render to movie more.

Another thought, When a program or plugin (like WebEx) uses my iSight, could I get a composition on between the camera and the plugin.
For cool effects of course. Basically like iChat.

Can I output a quartz composition to a movie. A movie that can be played on a Windows machine?

You can make a movie, but not through the QC interface: that has an option to export to QuickTime, but it's really just a qtz embedded in a .mov; it won't play on windows machines.

There's a movie encoder plugin in the developer tools, and I think there are other utilities that will render qtz to real movies that can be decoded on any machine.. I'm not sure of the names though. I'd be quite interested to know what they as well :)
