It would be great if there could be some collaboration on this to make them compatible.
Eg PixelShox (the ancestor of QC) used to have an "object" data type which was a 3d mesh data structure and then multiple "object modifiers" which distorted the mesh, plus object renderers. I'd love to see that come back to QC by the various third party object loaders using one compatible format for a 3d mesh and then allowing "vertex shaders" to modify meshes and a common way of texturing them.
3d objects should be routable through the composition tree just like strings / images / numbers etc
the pixelshox website doesn't exist anymore but I can send someone the last available PPC binary if anyone wants to see how this worked in pixelshox.
