I am working with a friend to develop an iPhone (and I guess also iPad?) game,
and we have decided that I should be the one to handle the interface and
graphics.

While it may seem from my message that I'm not the best person to do that,
neither is he. I'm the faster learner and more experienced with Cocoa, so we
figured I might as well be the one to do the platform specific code.

Now, I need to choose what I'm going to write this thing in. I have two
options: Full on OpenGL and Quartz Composer.

I am quite experienced in Quartz Composer, and I'm fairly sure I can bang out a
sweet game in QC in half the time it would have taken me in OpenGL.

The game is 2D, and while it's slightly intensive and a little bit complex,
but, totally doable assuming the techniques I use on OS X carry over to the
iPhone.

Now then, how good is support for Quartz on the iPhone? I need a few important
capabilities, and the one bugging me the most is the ability to publish ports
and pipe events and data from Cocoa Touch to them.

The other issue is performance. How quickly do these things run?
