Hi Chris,
your description sounds like a good draft for a feature-request-
bugreport. Anyways, please take in account, that QC also can run in
Safari, therefore Apple has to take care that a malicious QC file
can't crash the users system (by saving thousands of images per minute
or install anything evil)! If you have a good solution for this
problem, please also include this in your feature request ;-)
Best,

Yeah, a built-in image export patch would be immensely useful. There's
the option to save the current viewer contents, but that's often
useless: by the time you've pressed the button and entered a filename,
whatever you wanted to capture might be long gone, and it's limited to
the current viewer resolution and contents. Saving out an image from
any part of a comp is hugely useful, so are features like regular
image saves.
There's an image export plugin example in the xcode examples folder by
the way, which gets you there kind of, but it's limited to png. I've
made myself a bunch of exporters based on it, for things like jpeg
output (used in a timelapse capture system) and 32bit float format
tiff output (ultimate quality for an app where that's what I need).
Count this as my vote for a proper apple supplied image export
patch :)

As a personal note, some native ability to save data (including
outputting to jpg, png) etc would open up a world of interesting QC
application creation ideas for me (a non-coder), using Kineme's
excellent QuartzBuilder app to wrap it up.

I'm trying to build a patch to save presets. In the attached qtz,
is there
way to have the sampled value saved with the layout or when the
viewer is
turned off/on? That is, it resets (samples) 0 and i want it to
keep the last
value in the sample and hold.
