I think it would better if the macro appeared as a library item, and you could choose to edit it from the library picker. That would open it in a new QC editor window and you could do what you needed. In this regard, I think someone mentioned that you can save a .qtz and make it a patch that can be used in other .qtzs, and that would probably do exactly what I want.
