I used to use Consol.app but now I just rely on the Graph Foundation
Log.
For those who aren't using it enable it in the QC hidden prefs.
Downside is you get a GF Log floating panel pop up in Finder or any
app that is using a QC comp. You can't close or minimise the panel
eithher (in Leopard anyhow).

Good old Unix shows entries to the console log quicker than
Console.app does... Open Terminal and type
tail -f /var/log/system.log
