If running through Quartz Composer through FCP is something you plan on doing regularly, might I suggest checking out FX Factory pro from Noise Industries (disclaimer, I work for them :) , but we have a nice system with FX Factory Pro that allows QTZ compositions to be run as plugins in Motion, Final Cut and After Effects, and provide some helpful patches to ease some complications with regard to pixel aspect ratio, etc, but color fidelity is dead on, if that is a real worry.
