Gary:

I just downloaded the new Chart program, and it looks very attractive.
Glad to see that you are always thinking about customer needs.

I know this is a beta, so some of my comments may already be in the
works. Nevertheless, here are some concerns after using it a few
times.

1. In the "old" Charts program, you indicated the % difference [Daily
Automatic Log at x%] between the listed prices on the vertical axis
(semi-log view). I found this extremely helpful when visually scanning
a lot of stocks. QP was the only program I have seen with this
feature, and I hope it reappears in the new Charting program.

2. The chart for any stock selected seemed very slow to load/display.
The old charting program was almost instantaneous. (I have Windows
98SE with a 1 Gig processor and 512 Meg memory)

3. I could not find any way to type in a stock symbol, and get a
chart, which is quick and easy. Selecting from the listing of all
stocks on the left window was the only way I could find to change from
one stock to another. This takes a lot of time.

4. I assume eventually this will have the Search for Symbols and
Fundamentals options that are available on the old Charts program?

5. I could not find a way to save the system changes that I made, such
as width of columns in the left window, theme selected, candlesticks
vs. open/close, etc.

6. I could not find a way to delete any of the tabs that appear at the
bottom of the screen when more than one chart has been loaded.

7. Moving the crosshairs to a specific date did not display any data,
as the old Charts does.

You asked about what users may want. That depends on what type of
program you plan for this new Charts to evolve into. Will it be
primarily a charting program, or do you envision it competing with
Metastock/Amibroker, or? I don't know your user base, but I find the
old Charts great for quickly looking at data, viewing some fundamental
data on a stock, etc. For number crunching or analysis, I use
Metastock and SPP.
