IIRC, the Control Panel for what comes in. Going out it's in the track properties, the third field, where you select what port you're using. I find that renaming the ports for ease of use helps a lot to keep me in the right brain hemisphere -- for instance, the first port (virtual cable) is renamed Proteus VX on my system.
