When I installed the stuff on my system it involved installing the virtual
MIDI port program, checking in QWS to make sure it installed right and QWS
could see it, and then going to the stand-alone and configuring it to listen
to that port for its MIDI In. The Native Instruments stuff also had to have
audio ports configured so it could make a sound coming out. So it was just a
virtual equivalent to hooking up a physical cable.
