Dear all,
We are excited to announce the upcoming Physalia course Big Data Phylogeny and
Comparative Methods: From Theory to Practice.

Dates: 22-25 June

Course website: [
https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/bigphylogenies/ ](
https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/bigphylogenies/ )

Over four days, participants will explore how evolutionary relationships are
reconstructed and analysed—from building phylogenetic trees and modelling trait
evolution to ancestral sequence reconstruction, phylogeography, and species
delimitation.

The course combines conceptual lectures with hands-on labs, covering widely
used tools such as MAFFT, OrthoFinder, CAFE5, ALErax, and several R packages
for phylogenetic analysis. The training will conclude with participant-led
projects, offering an opportunity to apply the concepts and methods learned
during the course.

Best regards, Carlo
