The problem is remembering to do it each night. Same as remembering to unsync. Either way I'm doing something out of the ordinary. I generally want all of my players to start playing when I select music, so the "off" state is rarely used. I'm not arguing with the technical reasons given in the bug report. I'm not a software engineer, and it sounds like a pretty big tear-up to make an alarm sound on only one player in a sync group. However, from the end-user perspective there is a clear difference between an alarm and music playback. There are obvious reasons why music sync is wanted, I struggle to see why anyone would want their alarms sync'd. (Especially as one starts to accumulate several Squeezeboxen.) Rather than an intended or desired feature, this seems to be a "that's just how it works" limitation resulting from the underlying software architecture. All that said, I must be in the minority if this isn't a bigger deal in the forums and on bugzilla. So I'll just keep my old alarm clock and use the Radio for music playback only. -- ajkidle ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ajkidle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18929 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71564 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
