It locally has a static IP in the house because it is behind a
wireless router, and the IP address of the ISP has changed at least
once...

It is standing besides the bed and it is always on.
Frequently I unplug it from the power supply and make it run on
batteries somewhere else.
And no: I am not working around anything.

In my case I see that it is working without problems, and that may be
said too, instead of complaining that it is all bad...
