Play Howard 100 and choose save to favorites. Once on your favorites list you should be able to choose it as an alarm sound. It should allow you to choose favorites, playlist and other stuff too (I use squeezebox server though and can see all my favorites, I don't use mysqueezebox, other than to the extent I'm logged into mysqueezebox via squeezeserver. Could be you need to set up something on mysqueezebox so your favorites are seen locally? I dunno why you don't see favorites as an option under alarm sound, but I wake up to Howard 100 everyday -- and it is a favorite station, only with several other Sirius stations. I would check your configuration.
