Yes, I am thinking too of returning my SBR on the grounds of not
fit-for-purpose: no radio reception again this morning. Sadly I think I
have also innocently led my wife into believing (as I did) that the
system is a great idea and she has kindly bought me a SB Receiver for
Christms - I am now awaiting a s/h but unused Controller and beginning
to think all that money is wasted. Sonos has to be the next thing to
save up for.

Lots of the respondents so far tell me that they have/do not have
problems with AVG; this seems to underline the flakiness of the whole
set-up, which is entirely unacceptable in a consumer (i.e. not techie)
context.

AVG Free completely screwed my internet access on installation by
assuming a default range of IP addresses (I believe), so I have query in
to them, not having got far enough to try it with SB.

Avira has come highly recommended and has been simple to install and
interface with. (I have deep misgivings about Norton - can't even be
uninstalled, and always prefer to avoid Big Brother Bill software if
possible) I yesterday sent a detailed query to Avira so hope that may
produce some answers, however my first paragraph above now applies.
(Slimdevices guys please note)
