If you get the backup-sound regularly (which is not fading as of the bug report above), then there is something wrong with your setup (or MySB.com if you use it).
You could enable remote access to your Radio (Advanced Settings) and use a tool like WinSCP to connect to your radio and download the /var/log/messages file right after such a failure.
