I'm also one of the people that bought the radio, thinking that I'd be using it (with the battery pack) this spring/summer on my patio. Another weekend goes by and this thing sits tethered to my kitchen. (And no I'm not going to grab an extension cord. I am paranoid about the electrocution hazard, it's near a hot tub.)
Over the last few years I've just started to become more and more unhappy with the squeezebox products and services. For years I kept telling my wife that the radio/squeezebox/whatever would work once all the bugs were worked through. Here we are, years later and the products still have issues. Issues I could live with, if I were enjoying the radio outside. Yes, I believe it's my fault for believing the hype, but I've already made the decision not to buy the squeezebox touch (which I was really looking forward to), and instead I'm looking at other companies for my A/V purchases.
