Well all your problems would go away if you kept a computer running 24/7. Many people do. It doesn't harm anything. My wife and I use the alarm on the radio reliably (for about 6 months now). The people who have the most issues use mysb. I say, if you want to use the radio alarm, just run a computer 24/7.
