I haven't been around for awhile, but stopped in to see about the latest
state of the firmware.

I strongly suggest installing the official 7.4.2 release (for both the
Radio itself and local SBS) and then never touching it again. This is
my plan, and I am currently relatively happy with the way our Radios
function. We use the alarms consistently and IMO 7.4.2 has the most
stable alarm behavior of all releases. I promise this opinion isn't
colored by the fact that much of the alarm code in 7.4.2 is mine...
The reality is that the architecture of Radio firmware (and
architecture of Radio firmware<-->server communication) does not lend
itself to stability. This will continue to be the case going forward.
You can search for my previous comments in this forum if you want more
details about the underlying issues.

Bottom line: If 7.4.2 has the functionality that you desire from the
Radio (I never wanted much besides internet station access, access to
my local music repository, and working alarms) then install it and
never upgrade...
