My Squeezebox Radio was bought just over 6 months ago on impulse, when
my 27-year old clock radio started acting weirdly. I really had no idea
what I was getting into. The documentation for the radio is totally
inadequate (but I am used to that; it is widespread) and the learning
curve is steep. I went to these forums and found them to be one of the
most helpful and friendly community forums I have used. The senior
members are patient and kind to newbies and tried to help them work
through their problems even when they ask really dumb questions. The
Logitechs themselves would drop in from time to time.

Prior posts are right, instead of letting the older members help with
troubleshooting problems when they can, there seem to be a lot of
people just fussing. They often refuse to provide the information the
would enable the other members to help diagnose their problems, instead
they just moan. Then they turn around and abuse the would-be helpers
accusing them of being Logitech apologists. They refuse to participate
in the bug process which might actually help accelerate a fix for the
problems, not only for themselves, but for the rest of us as well.

I have experienced many of the symptoms that have been described in
this and other threads. I have dutifully filed bug reports and voted
for others, and requested enhancements. I have received up-dates on the
troubleshooting process when I wanted them.

I have lived a long time and I guess that one of the things I have
learned over the years is tolerance for imperfection. Compared to some
of the tech disasters I have lived through, like Windows 5.1, the Radio
is not so bad. Its bugs are not likely to kill any one (unless it gives
them apoplexy), unlike some other consumer products like my car (a
Toyota) and my stove, the recent subject of a class action.

As I often tell people, "the Radio is as buggy as hell, but I love it."
(As a previous poster said, it is so much better than short wave.) And
one of the things I have liked about it is this community self-help
forum.

No one here thinks the Radio is perfect (although we would all like it
to be), but community members generally want to help fix the problems
or figure out a work around. The folks in this community like to help
those who are willing to help themselves. They are very can do! Thank
you Senior and other Members. Don't let the fusspots discourage you
from helping. We Radio fanboys need you.
