Hello all,

I just bought a squeezebox radio from the Logitech store and received
it yesterday. So far I'm pretty impressed. One of the highlights of the
radio for me was the ability to integrate with Napster. I'm a long time
Napster subscriber and I was looking forward to the ability to search
for songs, artists, and albums and play them on demand from the radio.

However, the Napster functionality seems to be dismal at best. Most of
the time, selecting any of the menu entries in the Napster plugin (Top
100, Staff favorites, search, etc.) returns a list with a single entry
called 'Empty.' A few times, I've been able to browse the top 100
artists or albums, but even then, it's intermittent. A few times, I've
even received a 'parsing error.'

I've done some research, and from what I understand, the Napster
functionality isn't great. It sounds like these problems have plagued
the radio for a long time now. The last messages I read were from
earlier this year, but users made it sound like the capability had
really improved with the latest update. Am I doing something wrong? Why
does Napster not seem to work for me?

Now, what I seem to have gathered is that the radio can connect to
mysqueezebox.com OR you can host your own server software on your local
network. I have a dedicated machine at home on which I've installed the
squeezebox server software. I believe my radio is connected to my
server, as one of the options under the advanced menu allows me to
'switch to mysqueezebox.com.' For the record, I've tried the Napster
functionality while connected directly to MSB as well as to my local
SBS. Either one gives me the same, inconsistent results.

Am I out of luck? Is there any hope that the Napster plugin will ever
work correctly? I'll be quite disappointed to find out that I bought
this radio with no intent from Logitech to make the Napster integration
reliable.

Thanks in advance.
