toby10's suggestions are on the spot and I actually assumed that you meant "soft off", there is really no reason to put your Squeezebox in "off off", it's designed to be on or in standby. But, honestly, if your dad can wait during a cold boot every time he wants to listen to his radio I guess he probably should survive pressing two buttons instead of one, cause you do need to press play after the power button to resume playing if you insist on putting the Radio to a hard off mode every time you turn it "off". Sometimes we need to get the proper perspective, or?
