I've got a 9 & 11 year old. I bought a Radio for them to share about a year ago. It was getting so much use (and causing the odd argument about who's turn it is and so on) that I bought a second one.
I already had a Duet, so they were familiar with the menu system etc. But it hadn't take them long to pick that up anyway. As others have said, our musical tastes diverge, so they use Spotify and IP radio more than my music collection. The Radio supports the official Logitech Spotify plugin; I much prefer Triode's for usability, but the official one has the benefit that they can each listen to a different stream simultaneously. I restructured my library slightly - all my artists / albums / tracks were under a single 'music' folder. I've now just got three redirects from a top level folder to individual folders for me and each child. Then I export each of our folders as separate Samba shares - so if they buy music from Amazon it downloads to their own folder. As others suggest I've created a favorites folder each. Just finished doing a factory reset on my daughter's radio - that's the most maintenance it's needed so it's all been fairly painless. Apart from what they actually listen to... damn, I just turned into my own parents... -- Hobgoblin 2 Receivers 1 Controller 2 Radios Logitech Media Server 7.7.0 - r33614: Acer Revo R3600 running Ubuntu Server Edition 11.4 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hobgoblin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36018 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93574 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
