I've done it, cue celebration! For anyone who finds this thread having the same issues I copied the baby.version and baby_7.7.2_r9663.bin files into the updates folder in the cache. Which is in all users/application data/squeezebox I think off the top of my head. It's listed in your config within the server application. Also I set automatically update in the server (think it was in web control). Then a simple reboot kicked the update off.
