I, too, want to thank Michael that he got this open discussion rolling. Now, looking at this I'm a bit split:
On the plus side, I DO see that the technical changes make sense, it's not fully how I would approach this, but it's a decent way. If I was under the impression that there was a decent effort behind it I would congratulate to the decision. The same is true for using the UE branch which at least seems to know how to promote products these days. On the negative side: The whole introduction scenario clearly shows that Logitech still has no idea what they are doing and in what market they are working. They are leaving their installed customer base and developer base behind, pissing them off and not even offering them an upgrade path. All while having an incomplete new product offering that has no value proposition as it is now. This way, the product will be dead soon. It's a bit like watching Twitter committing suicide right now, quite a number of parallels to be seen. I believe now it's up to us as a community to show that there is a value in us and that we can keep the old platform alive or make something new out of it. We've always claimed that the product is not dependent only upon Logitech and I still firmly believe that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96188 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
