Just to chip in, I have one radio that is not used often, in my home
office. It is never synced.

I normally turn it off via the front power button. From time to time  it
turns itself on. Just the display, no music, presumably because no music
was queued to play at the point it turned on. 

I have wondered if this is a function of some kind of power surge or
interruption. We live in the country and our power is sometimes
vulnerable to the occasional flicker. My radio is in fact plugged into a
UPS, but into a pass-through plug. I should plug it into the
filtered/protected side and see if that makes a difference.
