I could not wait, and I upgraded the Radio i use in my room: it seems to
have worked :p

That's the reason I wasn't much afraid to upgrade.

I also hope that switching to a newer and easier to setup tool-chain
could raise the interest in this project,
and who knows, maybe also raise the chance of an "officially" supported
new firmware?

Anyway, if somebody is willing to test I could provide the image ... but
how is the legal situation?
Can we distribute the built firmware?
