I think either API leaks similar information about the bounds of the
restriction. In both cases you can scan a grid starting inside the restriction
until you get enough resolution on its edges.
For the restrictions in place the desired route would be to get users to sign
up but this would be different with any future restrictions that also impact
logged in users.
