I think we're using "lightweight" to mean different things here.


Lightweight as in "Hello world" apps

     versus

Lightweight as in "A bare minimum stack only serving a selected subset 
of functions at high speed".


I happily use Rails for tiny "hello world" and "getting reports on a 
database", because they fall into the first category.
