Dunno, but I find it extremely handy for web-testing using Parallels Desktop to have multiple VMs running XP + IE6, XP + IE7 and XP + IE8, given that those are the browsers where things fall apart the most... Good question... from what I've found with Parallels, the virtual machine shields you from a lot of these issues.
