Matt, Railscamps are unlike anything else I've been to. It's a glimpse into what society might be like if we were all geeks. If you have the chance then go. :-)
I think sponsoring some super eager Ruby fans for whom cost is an issue is a great idea. It could come out of general funds or else a pledgie could be setup to fund those tickets. Providing a much cheaper option for campers could be another way to make it more accessible? Anyway, I'm just making suggestions from the peanut gallery here.
