Really?? So you're saying that you'll allow your children and/or your congragation to
read anything they want because it might be ok - afterall, if they haven't read it
then they won't know. Have you read the book of satan? Why not? You can't say it's
evil unless you've read it (according to you anyways).
See the truth is this: we can be and are (should be) led by the Spirit. There are
many things out there I've never done/read/bought etc. simply becasue of direction
from the Holy Spirit. And based on His leading I can (and will) comment on those
things - including the Harry Potter books. You may not like it but that really isn't
the issue. I hope your belief that you have to try something to determine it's value
doesn't carry over to anything else - I can almost see someone from your congregation
saying "but pastor, I've never XXXXXXXX before so I thought I'd try it - afterall,
those people who out it down haven't tried it either." You pick what goes in the
blank - and I'm sure you can find something very silly to try and make your point - or
you'll say that I'm trying to recover from my losing standpoint. I'm not worried
though, with God on my side I can't lose.
Michael
