Courting" is so old it is new. There is a faction that is teaching their children that there will be no hand holding or kissing etc until the couple is engaged. I don't hold with that. I have two grown daughters who were raised strictlyand yet dated in the normal way, and turned out to be wonderful Christian young women. I think life would be kind of boring without the anticipation of the "first kiss", etc. But I am a romantic. I don't know the man, but it sounds like a cop out. You cannot keep your children from falling in love and you can't choose who they love. It sounds like dad is in control for now, but someday a boy will come along that his daughter really really wants to see and all dad says will go out the window. Ain't love grand?
Tell Josh not to sweat it, it has nothing to do with him, it is the girl's dad's problem and life goes on. He sounds to me like a great guy and he will make his way just fine.
