I think the point Jonathan is making is there is a standard set by the national office
for training of commanders. From the sounds of some earlier posts on this issue,
those standards are not being adhered to as required by national office, whether they
are being fallen short of or being surpassed.

God calls us, as Christians, to obey those in authority over us. As Christian leaders
we are held to a higher standard. If an area or district feels they don't need to
obey the LTC standards, what other areas might become ''optional''?

I, myself have yet to go through LTC, but want to go through the most effective proven
method. That, I want to believe, is the method developed and used by national office
for so many years.

This is a situation in our local outpost. As the only non-LTC (LTA) trained commander
in our outpost, I am trying to re-implement some of the basics, like pioneers wearing
a uniform for example. If our current generation of leaders don't enforce the basics,
what will the next generation of leaders let slip. By holding to a standard, national
office is trying to ''reach, teach, and keep'' boys across the country and around the
world for generations to come, should Jesus tarry.

However, if one has ways of improving those methods, there is also a process for
adding those ways to the methods. That process should be followed, that all may
benefit.
