You are upset because, things didn't work out as planned.
Things didn't work out because no one followed the plan.

Then, when leadership could have been used, it wasn't..
and the result was everyone went their own way.

*First I'll tell you.. "Pizza" is a code word for boys
to kick back and party down.  Cooking anything else shifts
the event into a Team-patrol-skills session about inter-dependence.

I assume this was not a formal campout, as you said a "overnighter"
but was permission slips issued and a agenda followed?
