Well I called Brain Hendrickson and he said yes it will be 3 x 2
and it will be silver trimmed. said coming out at the end of this
month.
Not a single patch company out their makes a silver trimmed patch,
so mostly this will be the right choice they are going with. I was
going to buy a bunch a while back, but I am now waiting till GPH
comes out with theirs so I will get the right color trim.
Advantage said that they will produce a stock priced patch for us
if they get the right color. So this will be a big savings if you buy
a bunch.
GPH is smart going with silver trimmed so you have to buy from
them. They are doing the same with the RR arm patches which in time
will be deleted from the shelves, because of the one already
embrodered on the arm. They don't want "off Brand" khakis with a
different shade of color with RR emblems on them. So these are just
areas we have to work with. Dickies has also stop making KHAKIS so
our market to find good deals is slowly shrinking. I believe this is
one of the reasons doing away with the old style "SQUARED OFF" RR
emblems. It was being reproduced by many companies and GPH went with
the rounded style so they could register it as a trademark. You have
to get permission to produce this emblem now. It is just a good move
on their part to keep the market in their pockets.
BSA has done this for years. You can buy all kinds of patches for
your uniform except one. The only way you can get the patch to make
your uniform complete is already on the shirt. It is the name tag
"BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA". No one can make or produce that name tag.
It must be bought with the shirt. That way everyone looks the same in
the right khaki color. GPH is going this route in time. So that
nothing can be bought outside of them. and all uniforms will look the
same across the board.
I don't think they can do that with the US Flag.
Advantage is just giving us a great deal and wanting your business
later on with campout patches. They gave me a color chart to compare
trim colors when GPH comes out. So I am waiting till then and will
mostly buy a bunch to save people in our area, and This Section a
dollar or more per patch. 50 cents is better than a $1 or more per
patch.
