My opinion

Well, it might not send you to hell, but others might go to hell because of you drinking it.  For instance, a person sees you walk into a church and later sees you drinking beer.  He thinks, 'I go to church occasionally and drink beer like this guy, so I must be as good as him.'  You drinking beer might not send you to hell, but others might go when they see you, and even worse if they know you're a Christian.  Drinking occasional wine in the privacy of your home seems ok, except when you go to the store to buy more.  Then you have the clerk and the other customers seeing you buying wine.

Just my three cents

David:

I am not condeming anyone on this list for their beliefs, I do like the taste of wine and enjoyed a ocasional glass as I said.  But some people believe that it is wrong basically because people drink it to excess and become drunk.

Now - as a diabetic I am supposed to stay away from any alcoholic beverages, which I do, as I want my health and want to live to a ripe old age, should the Lord wait.

I'm not about to delve into the theological issues as I am not a minister, I'll leave that up to others - if they so wish.  As I stated, these are my personal beliefs and convictions, with the concept of being above reproach as a Ranger Leader.
